The Story of This Rug
In Central Asia, the boteh motif is associated with a tulip bud or cypress tree; in the Persian rug tradition, it symbolizes fertility and eternity. In the large-scale rugs commissioned by Ziegler & Co. in Sultanabad during the 19th century, palmettes and boteh motifs come together to form a large, airy composition. Afghan artisans continue this heritage through their knowledge of natural dyes; the wool is treated with alum and iron mordants, dyed repeatedly in plant extracts, and softened by washing in the sun and running water.

Color and Pattern
Large, symmetrically arranged palmette rosettes and large boteh (paisley) motifs on both sides appear on a glacial gray-blue ground; between them are stylized lotus flowers, clusters of leaves, and curling branches. A brick-red border frames the design with palmette tracery on a cream ground and corner rosettes.

Returns
If your rug is not what you expected, you can return it within 14 days of delivery. Once you submit your return request, we will send you the shipping barcode. You do not need to take the rug to a shipping branch — you can call the nearest Yurtiçi Kargo branch and request pickup from your address. Return shipping costs are covered by us.
Warranty
Every rug is covered by a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth and never rubbing, gently blot the liquid from the surface. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural lay of the fibers). Rubbing can damage the structure of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If you are unsure, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuum cleaners and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the reaction of natural fibers to light and prevent localized tone differences (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.
Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Noble materials such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug-care centers specializing in natural fibers.
Washing Instructions
The exceptional pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for washing in a washing machine due to their construction. (Only our specific models explicitly marked “Washable” in their names may be washed in household machines using a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
